We "budget" to spend about an hour total on Sanity Checks and about 30 mins total on essay reviews. This does vary from review to review depending on what kind of "shape" things are in (and for essay reviews, how many essay questions a school has) but that's how long a "typical" review takes.
For Sanity Checks, this breaks down as follows:
- About 30 mins reviewing your materials and making notes
- 20-30 mins recording our feedback for you
For Essay Reviews its:
- 15-20 minutes reading through your essays
- 10-15 minutes recording our feedback.
You'll find that we're able to cover a LOT of ground in this time - because you've already gone through all of the "general" advice on your own in the Lab, we're able to get right into the nitty gritty of what's working for you and what's not.
If you HAVEN'T gone through all of the advice in the Lab before sending us your materials for feedback, the value of the feedback won't be as high as it would be otherwise - reexplaining the "basics" to you and pointing you back to that advice will take time away from us being able to focus on the finer aspects of your materials!
